The Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS)
The Integrated Child Protection Scheme, under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India was launched in the year 2009-2010 with the primary aim of establishing a safety net of dedicated & quality personal, structures and services for Child Protection across the country. Consequent upon launching of ICPS, all erstwhile schemes related to protection and well being of Children have come under one umbrella of ICPS such as:-
(i) The Programme for Juvenile Justice providing different kinds of Homes for children in need of care & Protection & those in conflict with the law.
(ii) An Integrated Programme for Street Children Which aims to facilitate the withdrawal of children from life on the street through interventions such as drop in centers and child line services.
(iii) The scheme of Assistance to homes for children (Shishu Greh) to promote in country adoption.
The function of statutory Bodies have been constituted in all the 16 districts of the Arunachal Pradesh under the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children)Act,2000, Viz.:-
