Swayamsidha [Central Scheme]
The objectives of the Scheme are the all-round development of women, especially socially and economically by ensuring their direct access to, and control over resources through a sustained process of mobilization and convergence of all the on going sectoral programmes.
The main objectives are as below : Establishment of self-reliant women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) Creation of confidence and awareness among members of SHGs regarding women’s status, health, nutrition, education, sanitation and hygiene, legal rights, economic upliftment and other social, economic and political issues Strengthening and institutionalizing the savings habit in rural women and their control over economic resources Improving access of women to micro credit Involvement of women in local level planning
Convergence of services of Deptt. of Women & Child Development and other Departments. The Govt. of India has sanctioned 6 blocks viz; Sagalee, Seppa, Buragaon, Roing, Tezu and Pangin for implementation of the scheme.
