Nutrition Programme for Adolescent Girls (NPAG) [Central Scheme]
This is a pilot project introduced in 2002-2003 to provide food grains to mal nourished, pregnant, lactating mothers and adolescent girls in the Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh identified by the Planning Commission. Under this Scheme, Anganwadi Workers of each center is to keep weight records for every women of the Anganwdi Centre four times in a year and to forward to CDPO concerned. The CDPO is to take up the growth monitoring report for the suggestion or advice of medical officer/ANM to provide food grains to the selected pregnant/nursing mothers and adolescent girls accordingly. Each under-nourished/mal-nourished beneficiary is provided free food grains @ 6 Kgs per month. The food grains is provided to under nourished pregnant/lactating mothers whose body weights are below 40 Kgs and adolescent girls whose body weight is below 35 Kgs.
