The Scheme aims to improve the lives of poor women by training them in traditional and on-traditional trades viz; electronics, wath assembly, basic and advanced computer training, garment making, secretarial practice, embroidery etc. and to ensure their employment in these areas.The Objectives of the Scheme is to train women, preferably in the non-traditional areas and to ensure their employment
Implementing Agencies The Scheme is implemented by Public Sector Undertaking/Corporations/Womenís Development Centres of Universities and Voluntary Organisations registered under Society Registration Act, 1860 / corresponding State Act.
Beneficiaries Poor and needy women in urban slums and rural areas and women from weaker sections such as Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Pattern of assistance - Under the Scheme financial assistance would cover Establishment of self-reliant womenís Self-Help Groups (SHGs) Construction of shed for training-cum-production purpose if required Training cost Stipend to the trainees and attendance performance incentive where eligible Training kit necessary for training-cum-production Dormitory facilities for the working, if required Seed money as initial working capital, if required Seed money as initial working, if requiredManagement training and Day care center Pre-production activities such as feasibility studies and cost-project activities where necessary Stipend @ Rs 250/- p.m. per beneficiary Training kit necessary for training-cum-production Cost ceiling is Rs 8,000/- per beneficiary
